Just want to clarify my understanding....with an XTS3000 that has been written with the latest CPS 5.xx.xx. If you want to go back to an older version of CPS (R04.xx.xx) then it is possible to load a codeplug into the radio with the older version provided that plug was last saved with the older version and matches all specs of the radio.

Basically, i have an old version of a record saved for my radio. the radio has since been programed with the latest CPS...can i still shove the old plug in using the older CPS??

Thanks for any help

If you have a codeplug for that exact radio (model, serial, flash all match), then yes, you can use the version of CPS/RSS that the codeplug was created with to program it back in, and use that version of CPS/RSS to continue programming the radio in the future.

Having said that, there may be bugs or new features that the current CPS/RSS solves or implements that the old version did not, so if at all possible you may want to consider using the newer RSS/CPS.

Thanks for the reply and info. I was asking after seeing a few posts on here that had comments to the effect that XTS3k CPS 5.XX.XX were buggy and the last stable versions were in the R04.xx.xx series. However if this is not the case, then continuing to use the latest/last release is not an issue.

The DSP on the radio is not the latest at 7.03.09, if that makes a difference.

Thanks again.
