Anyone ever replace a channel rotary switch on the waris series HT's?

Seems to a real tough removal off the pcb without breaking the pcb unless
there is a tool or technique I do not know about.

Just requires a bit of technique and finesse on your part. I heat a solder blob over the six leads at the same time causing the switch to drop out by its own weight, basically. There are exceptions where someone soldered the guide pins to the circuit board, and others where you can carefully cut away the green switch housing down to the actual switch set pieces and remove them that way. This will work as long as you NEVER tug or pull on the switch to forcibly remove it. If it doesn't fall out easily, recheck you procedure. I use 800 degree flat tips for quick solder flow. This applies to SP50 thru P1225, etc.

Yes - thanks Bat2way - I did contemplate similar but this one is soldered onto the pcb real good. There are 2 guide pins soldered
and one of them is soldered on both sides of the pcb so off to meximoto it goes, I gave up on it.

Ah, just heat gun it. I love my Master Pro Heat big red. I think that Harbor freight also has some nice heat guns that'll do the job for like 20 bucks or so. Seems to me like a much better technique than using an oven, unless the Mrs doesn't mind the smell or taste of solder or flux in her kitchen.
