Make sure your accessory connector is attached, or at least pins 15 and 16 jumped for the internal speaker to operate.
As the rear of the radio is facing you pins 15&16 are the two farthest to the right. (vertical from one another)

You say the LED does not flash indicating a receive signal? My gut says the 2nd LO xtal is bad, I have replaced a few in my time.

Hello:
Sorry to hear about your troubles.
What is the model number of your GM300 mobile ?
Yes id agree with the above postees answer that if you get no rx or led indication of attepting to rx then component crystal y-52 is more than likely dead and needs replaced.
Be aware that after replacing the crystal that you will need to realign the tuning value of the new crystal to make the radio recieve on freqeuncy.
This will require a service monitor to do corectly.
Y-52 crystal = 44.645 mhz.
If you pm me your email address i can scan the bd and the y-52 crystal.
Ill just put in a courteous warning = Do not attempt replacing it if you cant realign the radio using the GM300 program to do so.
You will not be happy with the radios performance.
It would be best left to a knowlegable person that has the equipment to tune the new crystal to legal operating specs per the fcc rules.
But its your radio and ill say no more.
Assuming your GM300 model number is a wide band model the following offer stands.
If you need it done i can do it for you for $25.00 if you pay shipping both ways.
The post office has a flat rate box that you can ship it for $8.95 and id return it as flat rate of $8.95
Just a note = Ill be using a used but good 44.645 mhz crystal and tune it up per specs.

Zoltan,

Welcome to the BatBoard.

Right, the GM300 radio comes in two "splits" on VHF, Range one is 136-162, and Range 2 is 146-174.

Sometimes the high range will go to 144 ok, all tho I have not tested that in the lab.
