Hi, I have a couple of CE that are a two piece design # TLN8968A what series of radio would this be from? Micor base? or what.

You mean those shiny ones with the top part which plugs into a socket on the main body? Those were used in UHF Mocom 70's as well as some VHF models, and also some early Motracs before they went to the one piece elements with the soft aluminum cover and the staked-on sides. I could look up your # and tell you exactly what it fits, but I'm still at work and that data is hiding at home somewhere.

You should find that the top part has just a crystal and some compensating parts in it. The bottom part has the actual oscillator circuitry. I used to hate those because it was very hard to get the top piece apart to change the crystal (you were supposed to just order the whole thing from Mother M, but for ham use, we did not do that...)

Hi, Thanks for the info, I was thinking Mocom uhf repeater, The guy I got them from said it was a Moto repeater he didn't know the model #. Does the micor uhf repeater use the same elements[ 1024 blue] as the mobile?

The "two piece" channel elements were used in late Motracs, Motrans, UHF MDY repeaters. These came after the one piece elements.
The idea was you only had to change the upper part with the crystal and the temperature compensation in it, to change frequency.

The "upper" piece was used in the Mocom 70 radios with a different part number.
