Does anyone have the Part number for the PTT Micros Switch (on the board) for the HT750 & HT1250?

It says on it 9069 3313 (or maybe 331B).

I have a few radios that are pretty old and you must key in pretty hard in order to transmit. I would like to try to change the switch myself.

Also since I've never soldered these radios before, are there any recommendations on the type of solder to use and any general tips?

Thanks.

The Motorola p/n for the switch you're looking for is 4080523Z02. Unless you've actually tested it with the chassis out of the housing and the radio in button test mode, it's more likely that the side control keypad p/n 7580532Z01 is worn on the rubber plunger that operates the PTT switch. Only time I've seen the actual switches fail is when the radio's been dragged under a 2 ton pallet or run over with a hyster.

The first thing that I did was to change the Side Keypad control. I've had no luck. I've tested it out of the housing and it feels a little stiffer than the others, although it works much better out of the housing. When it's in the housing, the user has to press the button as close to the center of the button as possible, and a little bit harder, in order for it to work.

Sometimes the housing will distort a little as well. If it bows out slightly it pushes the PTT button farther away from the switch, thus you have to push the PPT harder to make contact.

Ok. I'll look at it a little more closely.
