Can someone please tell me what is the part number for the Original Antenna that ships with new HT1250 VHF radios?

Also what is the difference? Is one better that the other?

I honestly don't know which one ships with an HT1250, but it probably IS the Heliflex. Heliflex is cheapest at $11.75 and the others are $13.50 and up.

Do you know why someone would want one type, over the other?

The stubbies are short and less intrusive if you carry a radio on your side all day. They don't perform as well though.

The Whips are longer and very flexible. They're more comfortable when wearing a radio on your belt and they perform well.

The Helical is about the same length as the Whip. The Helical and the Whip perform basically the same. The Helical is much stiffer than the whip though. You wouldn't want to have it poking you in the side all day. It's best suited for a radio kept on a desktop most of the time. Helical is cheapest and easiest to manufacture, thus you pay less for it..

I'll probably buy the whips, because our radios are carried all day. (Although I like the looks of the helical better).
