Disguised Antennas

Does anyone have any experience using disguised antennas with any of the Astro Spectras? I've looked at Sti-Co and US Communications versions and wondered how well they work. I'm looking for a dual band V/U setup for a sedan that will look like a traditional factory model. Performance is a MUST, but I know better than to expect the same performance as a traditional body mount type antenna. This will be for 110 watt VHF and 110 watt UHF Astro Spectras with W-3 heads. The prices seem to be all over the board, and the US Communications one boasts tri-band capability. Just wondering if anyone here has used any of these and what the results were. How much performance degradation can I expect from traditional, etc? I'm not interested in the "behind the bumper" or "license plate" versions unless someone has used them and think they are better than the OEM lookalike versions. Seems like they would be very directional... Same with "glass mounts". Must be dual band, as I can't have this thing looking like a porcupine. And, yes; I know they're expensive. But, are they worth it?
BTW; greetings from Kuwait and Iraq for the next couple of weeks!
