Pushing J split A-spectra above 162mhz ?

Post by immelmen28 »

There is lots of talk here on folks pushing K split astro spectras down to 144(sounds like IMBE is hit or miss in ham bands without some serious modding). Has anyone seen how far north of 162 a J split will work IMBE...or at least receive it?

It may as well receive it, but you might have problems transmitting IMBE there.

I have a J-Split pushed up to 170Mhz. Rx Sensitivity on mine is around -110dBm for 12Db SINAD, as opposed to -120dBm within the rated split. Also above 170MHz it unlocks. It all depends on your VCO though.
