Help With Getting A License or Two

Post by motofreak008 »

I was just reading about Dayton and it sounds like a lot of fun and it got me to remember that I was going to get HAM license. So I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions about what I should get and info on how to get it. Also, what is APCO, I have heard of it, but I am not for sure what it is. If possible, I would like to get as much licenses as I can. I am a person that does not like to be told no. So I try to get licensed in many things just so people can't say I can't do something. That is why I already have a CDL. Oh, and just so you don't think I a dense 40 year old virgin or something like that, I am still just starting out in radios and communication. I am probably the youngest member of Batlabs at the age of 18. So, any help would be much appreciated.

Wow, I remember joining the first Batlabs site (way back when, when it was in the OLD forum archives) when I was just 16. Quite a few years later, and still find myself even more into radios lol. First I would start out by getting your GMRS licence (it is VERY easy, in fact basically all you have to do is pay a yearly (I believe the fee now is $85) fee. There is no test for a GMRS license. As far as how to obtain one, do a Google search, and many web sites will be shown to help you from there. Some websites break it down as a step by step process. Trust me, it is VERY simple, and straight forward. As for as what APCO is, go into the Batlabs ASTRO forum, and do some research. All your questions are answered here, most in detail, ya just have to dig a bit to get them :)

I had them in Bookmarks, hope there still good reading!
Messages can't be intercepted if they aren't sent, can they?
