I've been having some programming troubles. I recently sent my RIB in for repairs and they tested it and nothing was wrong with it.

I've been trying to program a Motorola M1225. I am using the Motorola Radius M1225 Series RSS Version 3.1. My Computer is a Gateway P3/500.

I have programmed this radio numerous times and never had any problems. Now when I try to program, all i get is a message that says make sure the radio is on and make sure the cable is connected to the radio. I'm using COM port 2 which i know is working properly.

Is my computer to fast? It always worked before.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The computer isn't too fast- this RSS is Windows based and will run on anything fast. I use mine on an 800 MHz with no problem.
I had a similar problem a few months back and it was one of the pins in the radio's mic connector. It had moved slightly out of line and wouldn't make contact with the RJ45 programming cable.

Todd: Also be sure to triple-check the power source for your RIB for proper voltage and proper contacts. A low battery on my Saber setup gives the same message it does if I
forget to turn on the RIB.

I've tried it on the M1225 and a PRO5100, still nothing. As far as the power source. I'm using the power cord that came with the RIB when I bought it.

Im running out of ideas. I do think the computer ir recognizing the RIB because I get a different meesage if I turn the RIB off when trying to read the radio. The message I'm getting when the RIB is on says

Check the following:
1. Connection from the RIB box to the Computer.
2. Power supply for the Radio
3. Is the Radio on?

Is the RIB-to-radio cable okay? check continuity of all of the pins from end to end.
