MTS2000 Squelch Crashes

I've got a handful of UHF MTS2000s, that, when programmed out of band (above 470, they are "R" split radios), squelch crash when TXing - ie they don't transmit the PL turn off code. This only happens on out of band frequencies, and I'm going no higher than 474. I see no option in the RSS to correct this. Any ideas?
