Hello all,I picked up a box of MTX-820s HT's and looked on Batlabs model ident. page to see what I had. Well that didn't work as the RSS reports differently than the website.Model number is H25JKH51C6AN. RSS has them as trunked system.
Also I have searched the forums on this radio and more confused. I have an STX 821too but will post on it later.Any info on this rig would be great. Thanks and 73 de Jeff/N0SIH

Is the proper identification form on this radio MTSXMOD from batlabs? If so it says these are VHF with display. NOT !
Also what is the official way to describe these? MTX-**** or MTX-8*** or MTX-8000? Will these do conventional?
Thanks and 73 de Jeff/N0SIH

Don't look under MTSX or MTX8000, different radio series. MTX-820S should have an orange button on the side and is Type II and conventional.

Quick breakdown on MTX-800 series (based on the one's I'ver had, might have been other variations as well)

MTX-800 Trunking only Type I
MTX-810 Type I trunking + conventional. But I also had a bunch of these that were conventional only
MTX-820S Type II trunking + conventional

Thanks for the reply RS. Some of the radios have an orange button as you describe and some have 2 rect. black buttons.
Well it looks as if these are of no use to me as they won't do anything HAM related. Thanks and 73 de Jeff/N0SIH
