Hello,

I've just got in two CM series mobile radios that I need to get up and running. Unfortunately someone has password protected the CPS when you try and read the radio.

I've found articles in the search but none of them seemed to solve the problem. Hex editor was mentioned but the string about getting round the password wasn't in the cps.exe that ive got.

Anyone have any suggestions as I kind of need to get these radios up and running quite fast. Also these radios have CPS R02.00.03 & R03.00.04 stamped onto them, but i'm trying to read them with R05.05 will this work?

I would really appreciate any help you guys could give.

Richard

if you are getting asked for a password then your cps will work, there are two ways, either use a ram editor to get the password out of the computers memory or do a firmware upgrade and it will leave the radio at a factory default like it came when it was new.

What else will I need to update the Firmware? I've currently got the R05.05 CPS.

Firmware is considered the same as RSS/CPS on this board, and this thread is teetering on the brink of violating the "no RSS/CPS request" rule.

The firmware is available to your local Motorola MSS. They should have the cables, software, etc. required for the firmware flash.
