The service manual says that this error code is a "general failure". Turn the radio off and back on.

I would make sure that you have the rear power cable connected and that it has + 12 volts on it.

I've tried turned the radio on, the display appears " MAINTENANCE MODE LOCAL DEVICE " after FL 01-90.

in the XTL, this is indicative of the control head not communicating with the radio

What radios do you own?: All are Motorola

You can try and synchronize the control head with the radio by going to the Tools/Synchronize Control Head with Radio from the menu bar and follow the instructions. Make sure your file path to the upgrade points to the correct folder by checking the file path. If it already synced then it will let you know. Hope this helps.

If this is a remote mount radio, sub a known good control cable. We have seen several failed cables that appear good until subbed and that problem goes away.

Also, dissasembling the control head and front control board of the radio and checking each of the flexes for correct seating is a good idea.

We just upgraded about 50 XTL dash mounts to remotes and maybe 10 of them had control flex issues on the first run.
