Spectra error code?

I have a VHF spectra which I was listening to this afternoon. It was functioning normally until I pushed the dir button and then possibly the H/L button and the radio went into some kind of error mode. When power is applied, first self check appears, followed by FL 01/90 followed by L (which blinks). Then the whole sting keeps repeating. I do not have the manual for this radio and have no idea what I did to cause this or how to get to to function normally. I tried reading the radio but I got "check power/connections with radio." What stupid thing did I do? Can someone help me get this thing back to reality? Thanks in advance for your help. email to
[email protected] or PM.

Remote mount? Dash Mount?
You'll get a Fail 01/90 when it doesn't have enough power or the control head doesn't see the rest of the radio for some silly reason. Check all connections, interconnects etc...

From:
http://www.batlabs.com/spectra.html makes good reading
Serial Bus Failure. May be control head failure, a radio command board failure, or a cabling failure
a. See Control Head Troubleshooting. b. Check rear options connector cabling. c. Replace Command Board

Update. I connected the radio to my RIB and Computer and turned the radio on. It functioned normally! I decided to load the original code plug back into the radio. I did and it still functioned normally. I then programmed in a whole new set of frequencies. I turned it off and connected it to an antenna. It turned on ok and still functioned normally. I then turned it off. I turned it on again and got the FL 01/90 error. It appears that someting is intermittant. This is a dash mont radio and the head is screwed to the radio. Any ideas???
