Minitor V NSV to SV

Post by RBMTS »

I have two M5's on different bands. One has SV and the other doesn't. I'd like to swap SV capability to the current NSV pager. Is the SV a plug-in board that can easily be taken out of one pager and installed in the other? If so, will the programming software automatically know that it has SV capability by reading the pager or am I going to have to hack the software to allow it due to the model number config? Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the help.

Not going to be easy.

SVs have a memory chip and the button on the decoder board to allow it to replay messages when pushed. Model number is also different, so you would need to reprogram teh codeplug from teh SV to teh NSV.

Opening the case will also void your warranty and drop the IS rating on the pager.

Easier to buy a pager in teh right bandsplit with SV if you want it.
