Saber II checking priority on CSQ channels?

I have a saber II that when stopped on a CSQ channel in scan, mutes the speaker for about a third of a second, every second. It sounds like it might be checking priority, but I left the priority fields blank in the scan lists. The local dispatch frequency doesn't have a PL, and the constant muting makes the pages unintelligible.
So what RSS option did I miss? I looked through it several times, and couldn't find it.

what are your scan settings in the RSS?

It only does this when it stops on the channels programmed as CSQ, and I have several of these throughout the radio. It doesn't do this when it stops on the PL channels, which leads me to believe that this may not be an issue with the prioirty option.
Ill take a look later and see which RSS options are selected and post them on here, if that helps.

When a saber II is in scan it strips the PL from any channel in the scan list. So all the channels in scan are CSQ by default. It sounds like your settings may be too short
Here is off one of my known working scanning saber II's right off the RSS
Monitor hold time 3
Recieve response time 5
Transmit response time 5
priority squelch 6
Try these and see how it works

I tried changing the scan settings to what FireCpt809 posted, and it still does the same thing. I'm really stumped on this one. I didn't know that the radio disabled PL in scan. But it does seem as though there is some correlation as to wether RX is supposed to be PL or CSQ, because only the CSQ channels do this. Maybe I'll just have to keep poking through the RSS options, but I really don't know what it could be. I guess my last resort is to start with a new codeplug, but I really don't want to re-enter 50 channels.

The problem with all Sabers has been the scan mode.
The radio is old by todays standards, and the tones on RX are stripped off while in scan, and this will cause a delay to be 'inserted' in the channel the radio is halted on.
Due to the slow sampling rate of the Saber's squelch circuit, and the fact that the radio could not scan PLs fast as the synthesizer could never, well, keep up with the scan function, so the radio simply strips off the PL so nothing hampers reception.
The drawback was the muting period that arose from this action.
Sabers didn't have a 'fast' acting PL circuit, and this is the reason for stripping the tones off only while in scan.
Systems models add a PL tone to any channel that does not have a programmed tone, especially if you have specific options programmed, such as status message and the like.
It drove me bonkers when I first detected this irritating issue with that model, so I deprogrammed the status message option and the radio never caused me any fits after that.
Good luck!
