The unit just cuts off, can be sitting there, pick it up, wiggle it in your hand... I cannot narrow it down to a certain action. If memory serves- I recall the waris series having a power switch problem years ago, but this is a newer model 2500i...firmware? Anyone?

Define "cuts off" - do you mean your talking on it and it just turns off? Or your monitoring something and it just shuts itself off?

Have you taken a peek inside the radio and seen if the flex needs to be reseted and all the shields are held firmly in place?

Is there encryption in the radio? If there is - is it while it's receiving an encrypted signal? If so, it may be that your UCM firmware needs to be upgraded.

normally, the screen goes blank, sometimes it hangs up (looks like it is on but no function ie. button press). No encryption... radio mostly in monitor- not much tx on this unit. Mostly tx on VHF unit. My vhf has host R10 something. Probably need to refresh both.

I found FSB10193 ref. xts2500 firmware trouble for DPL decode on Host R08.00.10 through R09.00.01. Sent in request, will see what happens.

I have also noticed that it sometimes acts like it is running the self check several times when you power it up or it has cut off when already powered up. Has anyone run across this, anyone?

what is the origin of your radio?

if i had to suspect anything, i would say "bad front shield"

it is a Panter unit. I have a couple different units from him, but this is the only Q-split and the only 8.xx FW. I'm going through the DSM hunting.

update, firmware upgrade to 11.00.03, changed out front with one that has adp chip. worked ok for a while, was still hit or miss sometimes, now it has lost the DSP ver. shows 00.00.00 on cps and fail 02/90 on the radio. What?
