Hi,
I have an old mic in really good condition. Its Motorola part # ZMN6022A. I cant remember what type of mobile it was for. The head housing is dark green and it has a white grill with a light blue Circle M. It has a spring style flex at the base of the head and at the connector end. The connector is a steel cylinder type and marked AM PHENOL. It has a threaded ring with six thick connector pins. I would like to convert the connector for use on an Astro Spectra. I just wonder if the internal mic components are electronically compatible.

Sounds like a Mocom 10 or Mocom 35 mike. Its supposed to be dark blue with a white face. Might have faded over time. If you scratch the plastic on the back its probably dark blue (unless someone painted it) You would have to find a Spectra cable (or mike) and try to piece it pin to pin. Or try putting the plastic mike housing on a spectra mike and see if it fits. I did it with a Maxtrac mike and a 1950's Motorola mike. Came out nice! (Mikes heavy though,they were metal back then!)

ZMN-6022A was for the HT-220 Converta-com. It is a dynamic mic with transistor pre-amp.

My 1980 vintage /\/\ accessories catalog also indicates that the Mocom10 used spade lugs, and the Mocom35 was a 5 pin connector.
