MCS 2000 questions

Just got myself an MCS2000 M2 800. Does a 255ch cp exist?

And for programming, does the Sandy Ganz RIB's RJ-45 work with the MCS 2000? Yes, I realize, "buy an OEM programming cable," but that (even at cost) costs more than the radio itself. There doesn't seem to be too much info on the MCS series, as compared to the Spectra pages on Batlabs and the Interweb so just looking for some help/pointers.

There have been a number of discussions on the MCS2000 here. One of the main pointers is that the
Polaris rib boxes don't work well on this radio. The voltages are just a tad low in the write mode
and the radio won't program. Sometimes if you have a good battery and have the wall wart also
plugged in, you may be able to get away with it, but don't place any bets on it working. Been
there and done it myself.

The package is H260 and it gives you 250 channels only. No 255 channels exist. Even a model 2 radio can be flashed for this, but not a model 1. The model 1's are somewhat limited in their options (and somewhat useless as far as I'm concerned).

Here's flash options and prices for the MCS2000:

H35 ENH: CONVENTIONAL SOFTWARE $225.00
H36 ENH: SFWR STARTSITE OPER $200.00
H37 ENH: SFWR SMARTNET SYSTEM $625.00
H38 ENH: SFWR SMARTZONE SYSTEM $925.00
Q181 ENH: STAT ALERT DECODE FEATURES $75.00
H39 ENH: MDC1200 SELECTIVE RADIO INHIBIT $100.00
H43 ENH: TRUNKING/MDC REMOTE MONITOR $100.00
H45 ENH: SMARTNET TYPE I FEATURES $75.00
H46 ENH: ONE TOUCH BUTTON TRUNKED STATUS/MESSAGE MCS2000 $150.00
H169 ENH: QUIK CALL II, SINGLE TONE $100.00
H260 ENH: 250 MODE CAPABILITY (MODEL II & III) $150.00
H270 ENH: STAT ALERT ENCODE/DECODE $125.00
H451 ENH: GE STAR SIGNALLING $50.00
G617 ENH: HEAR CLEAR $350.00
Q173 ENH: SMARTZONE OMNILINK OPERATION $200.00
