LTR Gurus: Separate TX and RX ID kosher?

A customer of mine will be rolling out an LTR system and posed a question I've not heard before: Can the units in the field be precluded from hearing each other talk into dispatch? Subscribers will all be CDM1550-LS+ mobiles or HT1250LS+ portables.
My idea is for the field units to RX with one ID, TX on a separate ID; and have two base stations in dispatch, one for TX and one for RX. I realize it's possible to scan across talkgroups, but I've also found that this scan is not very reliable, so the dual base stations seem like the best answer to me.
Is this feasible?

It will work just fine. You should have no need for two radios at the base. We have done this with no problem. I would be glad to help you in any way. If you want to call me, let me know if you need the number.

When programming the LTR system into the mobiles, it allows you program in non-matching IDs, under the Group ID tab of the LTR personality tab. It's as easy as doing differing PL / DPL codes.

I'm not sure why you'd need 2 base sets? For example if the field units TX ID 10, and RX ID 20, you'd simply have to reverse these in the base programming for the base to communicate with the field units.

Yeah, that's how it will work out as Jim alluded.
