I have an XTS5000R VHF and want to use the FPP feature. I have a blank Zone so I can add channels as needed. I dont have FPP on the menu. How do I activate it and do I need a special connector or cable like the BK's to be able to program the radio throught he FPP. By the way, the radio does have the flash and FPP feature added. Could it be a code plug issue?
Thanks
Marty

1. There is no special connector or cable to operate the FPP function on an XTS.
You do all the programming via the keypad, and of course the radio must be a
model 3 with the full keypad.
2. The reason you can't work the FPP is because you haven't set it up in the
radio wide menu. Go in there and select the FPP menu option and place it where
you want it in the display sequence and then send the modified codeplug to the
radio. When you turn the radio on the FPP should appear at some point on the
display.
By the way, just in case it applies to your radio and setup, if your radio is flashed
with Q52 AND Q53 you can use any CPS. However, if you don't have both 52 and
53 you are limited to a CPS no higher than version 9, so be careful if you don't have
both Q's flashed into your radio. If you run a CPS higher than 9 in an XTS that has
only 52 flashed in it the FPP function literally disappears.
