I have a 1250 limitid keypad that is in need of being recased. i cant find any limited keypad kits but only the full keypad. does anyone have a recase kit or how hard would it be to turn it into a full keypad. do i need a different board or something?

Do a search for "ht1250 limited full keypad" or something like that and you will see postings on how to do this. The refurb kit from what I read has all the parts you need to do this and after re-casing you change the programming in the CPS/software to a full keypad.

Searching will give you all the info you need.....

Part REX4660B, http://www.myradiomall.com has them for just over $35.00. Don't forget the label (it does not come with the recase kit). Part number for that is HLN9962A.

He will also need the board behind the keypad to turn it into a full keypad radio. An old pre J92 Passboard will do the trick also as it has the touch pad built in.

I have the limited keypad kits for $34.50, in stock and on the shelf, and the full keypad kits for $34.75.

The recase process is relatively easy, although it does require some finesse with the accessory port and the display bezel. It's easy to crack the display, I've found a momentary blast with a heatgun on the backside will help to loosen up the adhesive.

As noted above, you'll almost certainly find the "limited keyboard" has the full contacts for the "full keyboard". The joys of a "software defined radio".

FWIW, the HT750 and all HT1250 models share the same guts, much like the PR/MT1500 sharing guts with an XTS1500/2500.
