I have an mts2000 Type: PJ302H, S/N: 4661WW5716, Model: H01KDH9PW1BN. I think it is made in the EC. I bought it off of ebay without doing my homework. I have taken it to 4 different radio shops and they all tell me they can not program it. Could someone please tell me what version of rss or cps i might need to be able to program this so i can call around to some radio shops. Also if there is any way to make it work with some common rss's with either a flashcode or firmware upgrade or something. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thank You

Mark

they are blowing smoke up your butt because they don't want to touch a radio that isn't type accepted. Upside is good old American MTS2000 CPS R02.02 programs them just fine.
RSS should too (unless they've been programmed with CPS)

The other nice thing about these radios is unlike American MTS2000's, they are NOT TOOLPROOFED! So you could use LAB/DEPOT and hack away without the dreaded FAIL 01/93 coming your way.

ok, i took the radio to a friend of mine and programmed it via cps. Is there anyway to have it do mdc1200, possibly a flash upgrade and how do i do that.

a flash upgrade would run you 250-500 if you can get it, ma M probably would tell you to kiss off trying to get a non-US radio serviced here...best bet would be to force an S-record from an MTS2000 with MDC or the features you want with that forbidden fruit tool...good thing is you won't toolproof the controller like you would with an American MTS2000. You will still need to do an alignment or copy all the softpots before blowing the new codeplug in.
