My County is upgrading their radio system from vhf to UHF, Trunked,Unknown digital or scrambled.) I don't know that much about digital or scrambled system's, I'm looking to replace some radios and don't want to buy something that will not work on the new system. Any Idea's? I like kenwood but will that work on the system? I heard it may be a certain brand system. Or should I just wait and see?
Thanks

Well then why are you asking US what kind of radio you should get?

I didn't know if they are mostly using one system or of a cxertain radio most of the systems. Thanks for your help, I guess I just have to wait to play.

You have a long wait. Bidding just went out for the consulting/engineering. And its rumored to be a newer TDMA system.

Here is my suggestion if you MUST replace some radios or ADD some to the current system. Buy used and only what will work for your current system. This type of activity is taking place all over the country or already has. Don't waste money on something new that your only going to replace 2 years down the road. If you have good contacts you can get used working radios cheap.
