MSR2000 Base to Repeater conversion - Will not stay keyed

I'm converting a MSR2000 from a base configuration to repeater will PL decode. It has an R1, PL, Sq Gate & Station control modules, I removed the Line Driver & F1-PL Control modules. Repeater keys when signal with PL is received but drops, then keys up and drops again. I've gone through multiple jumper configurations but can seem to find what I'm missing or need to add, any pointers???

For one thing, you need to decide what kind of station you want this to be.

It sounds like you want this to be a non wireline repeater. It likely was a base station before this.

What is likely happening is the receiver is muting when the squelch gate tells the transmitter to key.

You need to keep the receiver unmuted. Go through your manual, look at the jumper chart and set up every module for non-wireline repeater. Or ever put those modules back in this station. Doesn't hurt to leave them in. Just go through the jumper table and you will figure it out.

Well I've rechecked all the obvious. I little more trouble shooting shows the PL indicate is shutting done which I assume is caused by a misconfiguration of the COS & PL "AND" setting but for the life of me it doesn't make any sense. When I put the jumpers in for that config it won't key up on unsquelched condition and local audio gets muted in the speaker. About time for an external controller.
