one question - is there any way in the rss to get a spectra to not to display the securenet key name (also not a blank key name)? It is a little confusing when tx´ing it writes the DES-XL key name in the display that not matches the channel name.

I'm not aware of a setting that allows this (although I have never been in said situation)

If you only use secure on 1 channel I suppose you could name the key the name of the channel. A little bit of a work around but it will suffice if only 1 channel is being used.

Its been awhile since I have had to play with the Spectra's, but check the secure screens in the RSS for key name display. I know the astro's have it, don't remember if it was an option on the Spectra (may also be MLM dependent).

I know our old PD Spectra's would not display anything different while TX or RX anything secure, other than the flashing busy light. Then again, we only had use for single key/single algo.

I have still not come around any solution to fix this little annoyment - has some of you maybe found out if it is possible for a spectra NOT to show the key name?

Just make the key name "SECURE". That way they know it's encrypted. They can look at the channel display when they aren't keyed up.
