Hi all, I am looking to get a Astro Saber UHF and the guy says that it is a 403-470 MHZ split, however I can't find this split into the model breakdown chart, MODEL# H04RDH9PW7AN, the chart indicates R 438-482 MHz. I would use it 99% as a ham radio but in Europe UHF band is 430-440 so it will be a long stretch if the radio is 438-482. Is it possible to be the split the seller states? What else would you advise me to look for into this radio? Any help is appreciated.

The chart is wrong. An "RDH" will cover 403-470. "SDH" would be the other UHF split - 450-512.

In addition to the settled bandsplit question, what other questions do you
have about the radio? If you need only analog FM and the AS you're looking
at does P25 as well then you're paying a premium for something you'll never
use and that a standard Saber will do equally well for you. Prices of the
standard Sabers have come 'way down the past couple of years from what
they used to be.

P25 may come in handy but is not a must, PL, DPL are needed for repeter operation, scan needed, priority wach, nuissance delete needed as well; PL fiels programming would come in handy if available - like in MT2000 - call ID, call back may help as well if available. The following info is listed as well but I don't realy know what it refers to: AP#RO3.10.06, DSP#MO4.03.10, EMC#R00.000, #310AWL0001 KG1-NONE KG2-NONE. Thanks to all

Firmware. Analog only, most like 512K DSP. Analog-only flashcode. Encryption is enabled in RSS/CPS, but no encryption module is installed.
Essentially, a dirt-old, not-very-upgradable radio. I'd pay $100 at best if I really needed a throwdown conventional-only radio.

Unfortunatly the Astro Saber wont do MPL like you want. I like Astro Sabers but with 512K you cant do much upgrade wise. If it was a 1meg board (it will say so when u read out the info) it could be upgraded. For an AS II or III you describe $150 is tops with battery and charger I wouldn't though if you need MPL, go with a regular Saber or Systems Saber. Depends on your programming software avaliability.

Just about every feature you mention is one you'd get on a regular Saber 3
with a plain old 5D core. You would not get FPP, but as far as MPL goes
you get a version of selectable PL where you put about five PLs into the
radio and you can pick any one of them for your channel.
The now quite old, 512K, Astro Sabers whose flashcodes start with a zero,
meaning they're analog only are not worth very much, as has been mentioned.
