gday all, final got the eproms sorted out for the unit and now im getting D9A error, ive checked both JU1 JU2 and they are both on pins 2-3 wich i think is ttrc board present , secure board not present. it still displays the error, i try to read the unit with the 5.21 software via the top 40 pin connector and it gets to 3% and then reports to me that the sscb board number is wrong? i also canot dump a stock codeplug to the unit either ? do i need to configue the plug before i drop it in ? .. it tells me that the sscb is not responding when i hit F8 and try to program... does anyone know if im missing something ? cheers

The d9A error means the JU1 and JU2 jumpers are not set correctly.

If you have a pair of boards plugged into J804 on the SSCB, right above (or to the left of) the SSCB, with four LEDs and one toggle switch on the front, then you HAVE a TTRC.

Both JU1 and JU2 should be in their NORMAL position. There are small white painted upside-down U indicators directly above JU1 and JU2. That indicates the NORMAL position. The two jumpers should be towards each other if you have the TTRC and do not have the SECure board. In the photo below, both jumpers are in their NORMAL positions.

It's my photo and I'll post it if I want to.

gday mate, cheers for the reply. ive done the jumpers now it displays DC7 , im prety sure this doesnt have secure board installed as it was only used for vhf conventional, all the jumpers on the SSCB are in the normal position now, with the upside U on top. the unit powers up then displays 3 dashes --- and then the firmware 5.52 im prety sure then it goes to the error code DC7? god these units are confusing . any ideas?
cheers mate

E47 is a very common error and it means the VCO didn't lock up within a specified time. You can adjust the VCO coils on all stations EXCEPT VHF, but as long as the error goes away and the two green VCO LOCKED LEDs turn on, you should be OK.
