I've recently gotten one of these and would like to know (or if anyone has it confirmed) what chemistries it will actually charge. Called a few people and got different answers, so... I have a mixture of XTS and Jedi portables with Li-on batteries that are non-Impres that I'd like to slide into this thing, if it won't mess up the batteries.

The NTN1177D was sold for use as an HT1000 accessory, and it's dual chemistry only....NiCD or NiMH. LiIon batteries weren't around when this particular charger was manufactured. The above information comes from the Motorola Accesspoint accessory catalog.

you don't want to be using that charger on lithium batteries.

It shows a manufacture date of 2000 and fits my XTS5000s with the hi-cap batteries fine (it has the bigger cups) so I thought maybe it would do all 3 perhaps.
Thanks for the input!

At the gas station, the nozzle on the gas pump will fit into the filler on your new diesel truck, but I don't think you'd want to do that either!

The 1177 series only started tri-chem NiCd, NiMH and Li-Ion with the 1177E model, which I think is the latest version.
