"Dual PL" setup question...

An agency is using two different PL frequencies on a repeater, one for tx and one for rx.
In talkaround mode, what is the common setup method? Which PL gets used?
Or is CSQ maybe used for rx and normal tx PL used for tx? I can't seem to
extract any logical way of figuring this out so I'm asking the question. All
radios have the split PL capability.

Thanks.

Talkaround normally uses the same PL as the repeater transmitter is sending. Otherwise the mobile unit you are calling on T/A would not hear you if his PL is on.

Of course. Simple and logical. Many thanks.

Spectras when setup for direct, will not transmit the PL tone used on the repeater pair TX... Its straight CSQ on anything programmed with a direct T/A freq.
My error - it's user selectable lol... Forgot it was configured on this particular radio for CSQ...

Hey Tom,

I don't know of many agencies in the DC area that run split sub tones except MNCPP. Their choice is one I know of is there many more?
