Convert a Spectra Motorcycle radio to a dash mount?

Hello:

I have a Spectra motorcycle A4 rotary control radio and I would like to mount the control head directly to the front of the radio. I would also like to rig up a helmet kit and PTT switch. I read another post that the PTT, RX Audio and MIC audio are passed to the rear panel DB15.

As it stands right now, When I mount the A4 head directly to the radio, the radio is dead. The radio does power up with the proper motorcycle remote mount cable.

I looked in my Spectra service manual information and there is no information at all regarding jumpers and pinouts on the rotary A4 head.

Any ideas?

Best Regards,

I believe you need a HLN6285a board to link the head to the body. Worked on my A5 head motorcycle Spectra. GARY N4KVE

Ok, I'll check the part number on my interconnect board when I get home. I imagine it's probably possible to modify mine with the proper pinouts?

I did the modification to the interconnect board and now it works fine.

Thank you for the suggestion!

The information for the many versions of the A4 Rotary heads are in a separate service manual. The interconnect boards information is also there.
