SmartRIB locks down serial bus

Hey guys,
Someone gave me a SmartRIB that doesn't work. When I hook it to a Spectra, the radio comes on and displays FAIL 01/90. As soon as I unplug it, the error goes away. I opened the rib and found a couple shorted transistors near the DB25. I have searched and searched for a schematic to get a part number for the dead transistors. Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Jared

By any chance have you taken a look at
www.batlabs.com and gone into the programming area?

I have. All I found was a schematic for the RLN4008B (standard RIB). I need a schematic for a SmartRIB. Anybody got anything?

I'm running into the same problem with a VHF Spectra and SmartRIB. Have you had any luck resolving this?

I've had the same problem- however I found if you leave the RIB off until you power the radio on, it works fine. After you program, the same thing will happen, just switch the RIB off (once programming is complete and the radio restarts) and the radio will power up normally.

After a lot of messing around...here's what I found.
There's a BIOS setting in my machine called UART Powerdown. Changing the state of this fixed my problem. Turning that feature off and on made the problem go away and come back. I have a Dell Optiplex 745 machine.
I think there are several causes of this error message in certain configurations. This (BIOS setting) is what was affecting me.
