Here is the difficulty,

I have 3 trunking personalities on one system ID.
The problem is on pers. #1 channel 1
pers. #2 channel 1 and 2
pers. #3 channel 1 and 2
These talkgroups are locked to one encryption key no matter what the key you select. All the talkgroups are on select. The rest of the talkgroups which have encryption, are functioning perfectly in those personalities. These particular pesonalities have one or the other talkgroups in common. Re-programming the radio with a different key selection will not work. The other talkgroups within the personalities can be changed with ease. The programming has been checked and appears to be correct, especially when the other talkgroups within the pers. are correct.

Any suggestions?

Further, has anyone heard of a talkgroup ID not compatible with a certain encryption algorithm?

Can you have a different encryption key for the same talkgroup ID but in a different personality?

Could it be something to do with the channels selected for your emergency setup?

This might be a better explaination than the first post.
One system, 3 personalities.
Pers. #1 10 talkgroups all talkgroups with enc. select to 1 enc. alog.
Pers. #2 8 talkgroups all talkgroups with enc. select to 1 enc. alog
Pers. #3 6 talkgroups all talkgroups with enc. select to 1 enc. alog.

Radio has 8 enc. keys in it. First 4 are AES secound 4 are DES-OFB.
All pers. were running AES then wanted to switc certain talkgroups to DES-OFB.

The talkgroups that were to be changed were as follows:
Pers. #1 talkgroups 1-4
Pers. #2 talkgroups 1-3
Pers. #3 talkgroups 1-3

In changing the talkgroups listed below, to the DES-OFB the software allowed all changes, the radio was re-programmed but in looking at the following talkgroups, and switching on the enc. they were still stating the original enc. format:
Pers. # 1 talkgroup 1
Pers. # 2 talkgroup 1 & 2
Pers. # 3 talkgroup 1 & 2

Since the radio needed to be up and running, the enc. keys were arranged differently in the keys list, the radio re-programmed, and is working fine. Go figure.
And to answer the post, this did not have to do with the emer. functions, its still a strange one that if I get some time I will try to figure it out.
