Hi,

Has anyone had a CDM mobile where the volume in the radio would not turn off altogether? All my CDM's seem to do this. It's anoying especially when I'm in my shack and the TV is on and I want to turn the volume all the way down. I can still hear voices coming through. What can I do to get the radio to turn the volumn down all the way to nothing? Is it a firmware issue?

Thanks for your input.

it seems like all of this series has this problem my ht1550 does that too, you can turn it down all the way but there is still audio that gets thru. maybe set yours up with an external speaker and unplug it when you don't want to hear it or put a switch on the external speaker?

The CDM, Maxtrac, Radius, & GM radios, all have a resistor on the low side of the volume control. This prevents the volume from
being turned down all the way.

In the Maxtrac, Radius & Gm radios it is a 10 ohm surface mounted resistor on the volume control/mic jack circuit board.

Just turn it off when you don't want to listen to it...
