Am hoping someone can tell me what I have here.

It is a Maxar 80 radio.
Model # D51TSA4300BK

It has 3 pushbuttons on front panel marked: F2In, Ext, Monitor

Is this a crystal controlled radio in the VHF-Low band?
2 channel?
what power?

Maxar 80 is a crystal controlled radio, this one is lowband. EXT means "extender" (noise blanker.) F1 means channel 1. Monitor means carrier squelch, not PL. Maxar 80 dates from about 1980-84, something like that.

The 5 in 51 means a power level of something like 40-50 Watts, I would have to check the manual to be exact, but generally a 4 as in D41 would be a 15-25W radio and a 5 means it's in the 50W class.

Within lowband there are several "splits," i.e. segments of the band where the radio has been made to function. In other words, a 30-36 MHz split won't work on 49 MHz, and vice versa.

In addition, this isn't a broadbanded radio. It has to be tuned to the frequency you want.

I removed the cover to look at the crystals installed in it.
One is marked across the top of the crystal 56260.00 and the other is marked 56100.00

If my memory is correct, the receiver IF on the Maxars was 10.7 mHz,
so if you take 56.1 and subtract 10.7 from it you get 45.4 mHz, and
if you take 56.26 and do the same thing you get 45.56 mHz. This,
combined with the radio's ID code you've given, would make it a 45 mHz
split radio.

If the radio was high band VHF, you would take the same 56.1, multiply
it by 3, then ADD 10.7, which would come out to 179 mHz, which makes
no sense, so what you have is definitely a 45 mHz range unit.
