HT759 Qucik Call question

HT750 model number AAH25KDC9AAN will it do QUICK CALL cause I have asked 4 people and 3 have said yes and 1 has said no. The specks I have read say selective calling is in 16 channel model only. Is selective calling refering to (quick call) or is quick call different from selective calling? I just don't want to purchase these units if they don't do quick call cause that is what we need for our fire department. If anybody has any info to help me please EMAIL me at
[email protected] I can respond quicker from the iPhone. Not that I dont value the opinions I have already received cause I DO,I just want to clarify the difference in selective call and quick call if there is a difference.
Thanks Jim

they can all decode QCII but the 750's can't encode, you need a display model to encode

Quick Call is a signalling format, not a function.
Call Alert is a QC function where receipt of the tones causes the radio to beep, boop or flash; sort of like an old pager.
SelCall is a QC function where receipt of the tones causes the radio to open audio so as to be able to hear voice, where otherwise it remained silent. Useful, for instance, for "home" radios where the family doesn't want to listen to routine dispatch of medicals, but you want to hear the announcement of the second alarm.
Generally, QC functions are transmitted only by dispatch, not subscribers.
Note that the Call Alert and SelCall functions can (with proper equipment and programming) also be achieved by signalling formats other than QC. (For instance, DTMF or MDC1200.) So being told that a radio will receive SelCalls, by itself, doesn't tell you that it is capable of processing any given signalling format.
For what it is worth, I have yet to encounter a Waris portable that would not decode both QC and MDC. (That doesn't mean such a thing doesn't exist, only that I haven't encountered one, and I've done a lot of work with these portables.)
Edit: upon reflection, it occurs to me that I can't remember ever seeing a 4-ch. HT750, so my observations have to be taken with that limitation in mind.
