Okay, heres my problem... I bought a CDM1250 remote head and hooked it up, didn't work, so I rehooked everything back up to stock and now the radio will not power on. Does anybody have any ideas of what could be the issue?

Have you verified that the ribbon cable that connects the head to the drawer are correct? If reversed, the radio won't work.

Perhaps the radio is programmed to follow ignition sense only.

There should be blue dots on the flex cables and O's marked on the chassis and circuit boards. You match up the dots to the O's. It should mention that in the remote mount kit instructions if you have them.

If you do hook them up incorrectly there's a chance if damaging something. If the radio worked before you started but won't work now even with the cable in properly you may have burned something out.

With the CDM remote head kits, you MUST use the cable from the head in the remote, and the ribbon that came with the remote, in the radio, so in a sense; you have to swap ribbon cables....I know it's odd and doesn't appear to be proper, but that is what is required to make those remote mounts function.

Just take the radio's ribbon cable and use it in the remote head, and take the ribbon cable from the remote head, and use it in the radio.

Damn odd to do such a thing no matter what!

We have several CDM 1250s in the field at local mines, and this is what had to be done to make them work.

What you end up with is:

Radio ribbon
XX--------> Remote head

Remote head ribbon
XX-------------------------->X Radio

Gee, I hope this 'diagram' appears correctly!

The radio had to get sent back to Motorola because I guess it was a paper weight... But thank you for all the help, I will use that for when it comes back... They're installing the radio in a Jeep Liberty so it's why they got the remote head. But thank you again for all the help.
