Firmware Upgrade

Hello everyone, I'm sure this has already been answered in great detail and have searched with no success (other than answers that appear to be close to what I'm asking, but doesn't completely answer it).
Can someone please tell me where to obtain the "Flash upgrade" for both portables and mobiles. I know from previous experience that for the "standard" HT1250 and so series, you can log into Motorola and download the "flash" upgrades, but not sure how to obtain for the P25 equipment.
I also want to get some additional options to be "flashed" into my portable such as Enhanced Decode Display, FPP, etc. and understand that I need to order it through Motorola somehow on a "plug" and trying to figure out how much each option is, etc.

If someone can help with the above question, especially the "flash" codeplug upgrade would be great (I would have to think this would be "free" like with the HT1250, etc.)

Thanks

The firmware upgrade is not free, and adding features definitely is not free. The pro series works completely different than the astro series. You need to contect your local shop, as they will have to custom order an upgrade.

I concur with this. Those options are likely to cost you $100+ *per option*, and upgrades of this type are best handled through your local MSS, provided they have experience with high-tier radios (not all of them do, believe it or not).

Someone mentioned in another thread that the best thing to do may be to sell the unit that you already have, and then buy one that has the features you want. This may be (and likely is) the most cost-effective solution for adding options.

As for a firmware refresh, same deal, you can handle it through your local MSS, and it should cost $75.00 + whatever labor the shop charges to actually perform the upgrade. As batwings said, firmware upgrades for high-tier radios are most certainly NOT free, and the flash procedure is entirely different.

Motorola's ASTRO equipment is handled entirely different from the other product lines. The tech support folks are different, offerings are different, etc. It's a totally different world from anything else. Comparing a flash upgrade to a Waris portable (HT 1250, et. al.) and an ASTRO portable is like comparing a Mustang GT to a Formula 1 racecar.
