CDM in a DIN space?

A friend is looking to mount a work radio in a DIN space. They have spare CDM's that they will give him. Does anyone know if they'll fit in a DIN space? The dimensions seem to say it'll be close. He's looking for a relatively clean, nice install.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it will. Motorola makes a DIN adapter kit to install a CDM into a single DIN space.
p/n: RLN4781 Direct in Dashboard Mounting Kit. Cost is around $25.
I don't think it supports LowBand models due to their longer length.
You should be able to purchase this from your local Motorola dealer.

Correct, the RLN4781 will only work for the UHF and VHF radios. If you cut the back strap off, you can slip a low band in for a fixed installation, but it woud never stand up to mobile use.

The DIN mount only fits the smaller portion of the actual radio chasis. The enlarged control head portion sits forward of the mounting surface. Not the cleanest install, but neat and functional.

I haven't been able to find this in the American market, I have only seen it listed for the European version of the pro series radios. I am aware that it sticks out if installed, but does have any pictures of this?

The Waris series mobile accessories are the same for US and European models. I don't work at a Motorola dealer anymore, but when I did, I know these were available in the American market and we usually had at least one in stock on the shelf at all times. We had a trucking company customer that had trucks with spare DIN space in the overhead consoles. It was somewhat common for us to use these. I suspect most other dealers would not have this in stock and some may have never even seen or used it. If you call your local dealer, give them the p/n, they should be able to order it for you. It should only take a couple of days.
