ASTRO UHF / Ham band help

Howdy,

Well I have a problem. Again.

My UHF ASTRO works from 445 to 521Mhz. Tested. I need it to go down to 440Mhz for Ham use.
I tried hex editing the CPS. Several times. Latest version. Crashes when I try to load any codeplug.

The cause of the crashes seems to be my replacing "445000000" with "440000000". In hex of course.

Ideas?

Thanks guys.

You should be changing the string "4029861A" to "80591B1A" in PatPort.exe. Make sure you change it EVERYWHERE it appears. There will be multiple instances.

If you're changing the strings correctly, you shouldn't have any crashes. This will extend the range of your ASTRO Saber to 438-520MHz. Don't expect stellar performance below the rated bandsplit. My ASTRO Sabers receive at about .27uV in the rated bandsplit, and about .42uV in the amateur band. It ain't great, but it's good enough.

Please let us know how you make out with modifying the software. I don't know what hex editor you are using, but Hex Workshop is pretty much the de-facto standard around the board here.

That did it! You had the right hex address.

Thank you!
