Receiving DIGITAL on Freq counter or Near Field?? MotoTrbo

Post by Max-trac »

We are installing a bunch of Moto Trbo XPR 4300 mobile radios.
They have a talkaround channel programmed that is not on their license.
I cannot get a freq counter or a Signal Stalker (near-field) receiver to lock onto it!!
Any tricks to do this with "normal" equipment??
Thanks!

MotoTRBO being a TDMA signal, you aren't going to get this with a frequency counter. The signal isn't there all the time (in fact, it's there only half the time), and the counter won't be able to count it (you would need the counter to only count when the signal is there, which would require the counter to understand the MotoTRBO protocol).

You can get pretty close by using a spectrum analyzer and looking where the peak is.
This is my opinion, not Aeroflex's.

I WILL NOT give you proprietary information. I make too much money to jeopardize my job.

I AM NOT the Service department: You want official info, manuals, service info, parts, calibration, etc., contact Aeroflex directly, please.
