I know others have talked about doing this on the XTS 3000 but wanted to know if it would be possiable to take an XTS 2500 1.5 and add a full keypad. If it can be done how much effot would it take and cost assuming I have another XTS 2500 already with the full keypad?

Doubtful. The model number specifies the radio's capabilities hardware-wise, and a keypad isn't part of it.

I won't say it won't work, because I've never tried it, but it's doubtful. Motorola got pretty wise after seeing what was done with ASTRO Sabers and XTS 3000's, and I think they learned their lesson.
