JT1000 CSQ

I've programmed a frequency with No PL. How do I set it so it's not stuck in monitor? How do I make it so it's squelched.
On the "Channel Configuration page" On the right leave the RECEIVE SQUELCH on Carrier Squelch! If your not sending out a PL tone, just below that TRANSMIT PL can be set to TPL or Disabled. Go with Disabled and the line just under that should be gone (the line that says TPL Tone 100.0 Hz 1Z) let us know how you make out? When your on the above page look at the bottom of the screen you should see "Channel Options" on F2 "Radio Sq. Unmute/Mute...STD/STD..... (anyarea you highlight hit F1 for help & F10 to get back to where you were) Jim
PS: you can fine tune the Squelch by pressing the bottom right or left arrow, SQL. & PWR. will show in the LCD..Press 1 just under SQL to get in there. enter a number from 1 thru 8 (8 is the highest if I recall right) the higher the number the tighter the Squlch, enter that number : say 4 then press the blue/teal button to enter it. then press HOME to exit.......
