Hello All!

I am just curious to see what is involved with converting a couple of Syntor X-9000 mobiles.

I bought 5 low band syntor X-9000's from our state surplus agency.

I was interested in maybe taking two of them and doing a frequency change and make one a VHF and one a UHF.

Also I have a couple of Syntors that have the systems 90 control heads. I was wanting to know what I would have to do to make these Syntor X-9000 with systems 9000 control heads.

Please pm me with suggestions and ideas.

Considering that the bulk of what's in the radio is RF components, it would probably be vastly easier just to find a VHF or UHF drawer. They're not uncommon on the used markets these days.

I'm assuming you mean you have some Syntor X drawers. Syntor X's can be converted into Syntor X9000's by swapping out the personality boards and reprogramming.

If what you bought are really X9000 low band radios, they are worth much more than the VHF or UHF that you desire.
Way to much work to change them over.
Sell the low bands (or trade for the ones you want).
