Hello.
General questions.
Have several different models of Kenwood series. My question is, I am hearing radio traffic from a different PL as if the radio RX pl was set to CSQ and it is not. Mic is on hook and so forth. I have tried even on simplex frequencies transmitting with CSQ and then with PL and the Kennwood radio will RX either one.
Is this just an issue with Kennwood radios or is there a secret or special setting where this cannot occur? One of the radios is an OLD style Kenwood and the settings are pretty basic.
Thanks for any input.

Re: Kenwood Rx questions
Check to see if the HANG line in the Mic is really getting grounded.
That is what puts the radio into "PL" receive.

Re: Kenwood Rx questions
Are they all doing this? How many are doing it?

I agree with Will.
Take the mic hook to ground and see if the receiver follows PL. If so you will need to ground the mic hanger.

Re: Kenwood Rx questions
You can disable the mic hangup PL control in the programming. There are also some older Kenwood radios that need the squelch set for AND.
