GP300 =No rx audio but does give the power on good test beep

Hello:
Have a motorola GP300 Uhf portable with no rx audio- But does give the good power on test beep.
Model number P94YPC20A2A
UHF/4watt/2ch
Ok since it does do the rx power on test beep to the speaker - My conclusion is its not likely the audio accessory jack at fault.
Radio works perfectly and is on freq per specs and will indicate rx is being seen by the radio with a flashing red rx led to prove it.
rx sensitivity tests good.
But even though the radio is in monitor csq mode and the rx is flashing there is no audio but as i stated it does give the power up beep when radio is turned on.
Freq and tones plus tested in csq mode have been checked and are corect.
So does anyone know what componet could be the culprit that just wont pass audio (sqeulch included) but will let the speaker give you a beep yet?
Stumped and need some sugestions please.

Well there could be several components that you may have to look at thoroughly.
1). volume switch make sure it's not loose and solder is good.
2). Coils behind accessory jack make sure there not open.
3. Make sure you could ohm out the accessorie jack. (sometimes accy jack has dirty faulty contacts).

All of these require basic troubleshooting skills with a basic multi meter. If all else fails just send it to your local radio shop they should be able to fix it for a nominal fee.

The first thing to do is to get hold of a suitable speaker mic and see if
it has audio output with the unit plugged into the acc jack on top of
the radio.

Hello:
I have tried the speaker mike with the same results listed above.
Tried another speaker and same thing.
Also when i turn the GP300 radio on very fast and turn the volume to max as i do it = The good alert test tone is loud and seems normal.
If i turn it on slow and to say about 1/4 volume the good test tone sounds lower and normal as id expect for normal operation.
This is the same with or with out the speaker mike.
It appears that the vol switch does work as it will change the good alert beep level.
Just doesnt pass any rx audio to speaker or speaker mike even if in monitor mode and have tried csq mode as well.
LED does flash to indicate it did recieve the signal.
Qarratee its got the right pl because i checked and trie it as csq also.
Its PL =85.4
Thank you
