i have a saberIII UHF version as far as i know its not secure capable i just want to program that option in with the RSS so i can get that beep before each transmission i just don't know which menu in the RSS to go to nor the option to change,does anyone know the menu and option to change,thanx for your time

If its a non-secure Saber you have to build a codeplug as a secure radio to see the option in the RSS

Converting a Secure-Capable Saber into a Secure Saber

First, your radio must be secure capable to begin with. A secure capable radio is about 3/4" longer than a regular Saber. When you open it up, it should have a dummy (bypass) module installed in place of a secure module.

In order to convert your Saber into a secure model, you need to replace the bypass-module with the a real encryption module, disable Option H432 (VP capable only), and enable either Option H245, H244, H400 or H401.

Sometimes you may also have to install a Secure/Clear switch.

Then you must load an key into the module by using an KVL

You can also just program in an MDC databurst under options H958 (600 baud) or H959 (1200 baud)
which will transmit a four-number digital data burst every time you transmit. Be advised,
however, that if you're the only person on the system/frequency doing this the other users
will soon appear at your door with idea of killing you foremost on their minds.
The MDC databurst can be a very annoying thing to hear, more so if you're using it just for the hell of it.

If you can, try to get hold of Motorola's 68-81062C95-F manual for Saber programming. This
covers the version 7 Saber RSS but is also completely useful for the more common version
6 RSS which more people seem to have and use than version 7.

I have done this before but it's been a while since.

From memory you will need to change your radios model number From an H44SAK7139 to a H44QXK7139 and even though it's not truly a secure radio you should then get the option to set it up to transmit clear alert tones.

As I remember I read the radio and then opened the code plug in a HEX editor program and changed the model number as required.

It can be changed in the RSS as easy as building a new codeplug as a secure radio..

That's good, I don't work with sabers anymore so I couldn't remember if the RSS used the radios serial number or not.

and be sure to include when you program , to tone when in the clear . you may also need to program to omit secure switch ..
if not , you may get a key tone failure and no transmit . also when you make a new code plug and you go to program the radio .. be sure to use the tuning values that are in the radio.
