Alexander "Smart Charger" questions

Can anyone give me any info on an Alexander Technologies model NG12000-4734A "smart charger"? I already know that it has a Saber charging cup on it, but need specifics, like is this some kind of specialized unit with a specialized purpose, or basically just a plain battery charger? Are there any benefits or drawbacks to using this charger instead of a Motorola NTN4734? A web search has turned up lots of people selling them, but no real info. Nothing on Alexander's website, either. Thanks!

I have one... It rocks...

The one downside to the unit, however, is that you have to remove the battery from the radio as it charges on the top pins rather than the back pins like a regular drop in charger...

Conditioning takes about 2 hours to complete, then another hour to 4 hours to recharge...

I guess the biggest benefit would be the conditioning cycle... Other than that, it's a battery charger :)

Perhaps there are different versions, but the one I have here doesn't require the battery to be removed from the radio. The contact pins are in the back wall of the cup, not the bottom. Is conditioning automatic, or manual? I have no conditioning control, or mention of conditioning, anywhere on the one I have.

I had the same one. From what I could tell it was really no different from the Motorola ones.

My error, thought you were referring to the ATI2000 series charger/conditioner that has been floating around eBay quite a bit lately...
