Morning,
I have a HT1550 VHF that I have programmed with the MDC1200 at EOT but its not decoding the signal fromother radios. I have the decode checked in the CPS. Am I missing something here that its not decoding the MDC bursts? Some help if someon has been doing this for a while as I am now to MDC1200 signaling.

Thanks

Peter Summerhawk

Receive MDC has to be turned on for each personality that you want to decode.

read the radio and you have to go to each and every personality and go to the signaling tab and under the recieve system drop box set it to mdc and you should be in business. and remember you have to do that to every personality

I think I got it fixed, Set the conventional personality in the signaling tab to MDC-1 and then set the PL/TPL for data should be checked? We use a PL on the machine that we use. thanks for the help as I am new to Motorola programming and am used to kenwoods that require a separate board for MDC signaling. Sucks when you go from Kenwood TK-2180 to Motorola HT1550 and have to learn a whole new program!

well the patent on mdc is expired now so most new radios from all manufacturers have it standard now

Our system uses the MDC for end of trans to ID the unit but to also have the groups that are using the system that the user is done with their transmission. Only the supervisors have the 1550's the rest have CP200. I didn't tell them what the data burst was for save for a EOT tone. Of course the supervisor know what its for and they check their radio often to make sure the trouble makers are taken care of. Thanks for all teh help on this in getting it set up.
